Great steam mop! March 10, 2010 DC's Pinup Girl (ROCHESTER, WASHINGTON, US) I love this steam mop- it is light weight, easy to fill, heats up quickly and cleans my floors wonderfully. The mop heads wash up well (make sure to use no fabric softener and don't put them in the dryer), and it is a dream for mopping up sticky spills and everyday cleaning. The mop heads are also easy to change out. As some of the reviews state, it is not as good as scrubbing the floor on your hands and knees, but it isn't meant to be. I find it is great for keeping the floor clean between my bi-monthly floor scrubs. Highly recommended!
great March 7, 2010 B. Moore (Texas) It works great. I used it on tile and sealed hardwoods. Would recommend this to a friend.
Does a really good job and fun to use! March 7, 2010 Linda O I have a very old house with hardwood floors everywhere, even in my kitchen. And somehow the kitchen is where everyone first ends up (with their dirty boots etc) so I never feel like my floor is clean. This mop does a terrific job and is really easy to use! I now quickly mop the floor every week in the kitchen and the pads are pretty dirty when I am done. Last week I did the floor and put down a coat of Orange Glo Floor refinisher (which is actually a coat of polyurethane) and I probably just bought myself 6 more months before I need to think about getting a professional in to refinish the kitchen floor - I've done that once and trust me it is not cheap!
I really recommend this mop!
Wipe up the water February 28, 2010 Maude E. Norman 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the steam mop because my daughter had one and it seemed very easy to use. I have a lot of tile floor and with the steam mop it is quick to cover all the area. One warning. If you think you are getting your floor clean just using the steam mop, you are probably wrong. The second time I used it I wiped up the water of the floor (which isn't much) with a light colored towel. By the time I was through mopping the floor, the towel was extremely dirty. For one person to use the steam mop and stop to wipe up the water is very inconvenient. The next time I will have my husband do the steam mop and I will wipe up the water. I'll have a clean floor in no time! Also I have a complaint--Amazon always has more products that other customers have bought when they buy the steam mop. One of these is the Euro-Pro XT3501 All-Purpose Micro-Fiber Cleaning Pockets 2 pack. I bought this thinking I was getting extra pads for the steam mop. When it came, they were for an extra large version and I didn't have the extra large gizmo you put the pads on. I checked and to get this extra large gizmo and two cleaning pads cost about $40 or a third of the price of the steam mop I had purchased. So I sent the extra large pads back. Amazon said it was my fault and so they are charging me return postage. I really think Amazon was guilty of deceptive advertising. The name of the extra large pads has no indication of the extra large size of the pads. Live and learn. Buyer beware.
Nice overall design but .. February 28, 2010 Pilsner73 (Pennsylvania) Bought this product today and going to take back due to it not working well or at all.
I unboxed it and filled with distilled water, plug in and wait at least 30 seconds, pump 10-15 times and start mopping. Within ten to twenty seconds there is hardly any steam being produced by this mop. I barely can hear it making steam and when I put my hand down on top and under the pade I barely felt any steam. I was doing exactly as the manual claims using a regular mopping motion which causes me to push the handle in when going forward and pulling it back up when coming back towards me. To get steam I have to stop and pump five or more times before it starts to steam for a bit but again it will dwindle to nothing. I have a steam iron that is more consistent than this thing.
I will give it two stars instead of one because my unit maybe atypical (defective) and the design is great otherwise, the triangular head is really good for bathrooms. May try the Oreck Steam mop I like the idea of continous steam without pumping/triggers and don't mind the added weight if it works.
Update - 3/1/2010 Exchanged it for the same thing and it's working better but still not sure I'm happy with the amount of steam it puts out and the way it works. I will give 3 stars now.
